Top Hizb commander held along with two associates in J&K

An FIR bearing number 34/2007 has been registered in the Police Station Pampore, reports HT Correspondent.

Police has achieved major achievement on Friday by seizing material for about 23 IEDs which could have been triggered by mobile phones by arresting three persons from Doda one of them being a district commander of the Hizbul Mujahideen.

Sardar Khan SP Awantipora said that the top Hizbul Mujahideen commander namely Tariq Hussain Begawan of Doda was arrested by police at Awantipora along with two associates who have been identified as Muzaffar Hussain Ahanger and Mohd Ashraf Parray both residents of Udhampur Doda.

"It has been ascertained that Tariq is Hizb militant, the involvement of other two is being ascertained", SP said.

He said that a black Bolero bearing number JK02U 8155 has been seized from the arrested terrorists.

Three wireless sets,1000 rounds of AK, mobile IED receiver (normal) ,five cassettes-IED receiver(normal),receiver bulb type (normal) 17 in number and mobile Nokia with SIM four in number.

The material was enough to make 23 IEDs. An FIR bearing number 34/2007 has been registered in the Police Station Pampore.
