Thousands attended the funeral of Maharashtra Navnirman Sena MLA Ramesh Wanjale, 46, who was cremated on Saturday at noon.

The body of Wanjale, who died of cardiac arrest, was brought to his Uttam Nagar residence in Pune early Saturday morning. The police had a tough time controlling workers and huge crowd of his followers in the hospital premises and later at his residence.
Several top politicians including MNS chief Raj Thackeray, cooperation minister Harshavardhan Patil and several others attended the funeral. The traffic near Wanjale’s residence and Vaikunth crematorium came to a standstill due to the long funeral procession.
Wanjale shot to fame with his fascination for gold jewellery.
He wore gold ornaments weighing 2kg and was known as ‘the golden man’ in political circles.
