At a meeting district president of Udyog Vyapar Mandal Afzal Ahmad said, “In summers, customers flock to market after 7 pm. It is peak time for business and the order to close the shops before 8 pm is unjust.” Therefore, the State Government should revoke its order, he added.

Workers of Gorakhnath Purvanchal Udyog Vyapar Mandal also condemned the order of power corporation officials. Mandal coordinator Vibhuti Bhushan Gupta said that the Government had miserably failed to provide the people with basic amenities. He further said the state government had not taken any concrete steps to increase power generation during the past two years. As a meeting held here under the chairmanship of Rajkishore Gupta, the traders’ body said that they would strongly opposed the order. Gupta said Government realised the minimum charges for electricity but never supplied the required electricity.
