Passers-by were taken aback witnessing a cop hanging on a car’s bonnet struggling for life. Earlier, it was a gang of five brothers who dragged CO Chowk Rajesh Sahni on their jeep’s bonnet. After merely one-and-half months, owner of a brick kiln dared to relive the same daredevilry.
However, unlike in the case of the gang of five brothers, this time passers-by and policemen caught the offender and thrashed him up for misbehaving with the TSI.
Traffic sub-inspector JP Singh had to bear the brunt for slapping challan on brick-kiln owner Anand Kumar Vishnami’s Maruti car (ASO IE-0367) near Ravindralaya. Vishnami had parked his car at the wrong place. The TSI pasted the challan receipt on the car.
As Vishnami returned to the car, he lost his temper on seeing the challan. He entered into a heated exchange with the TSI. Initially, he tried to impress up on the cop that he was a scribe but that did not work.
While TSI Singh was engaged in a verbal dual, Vishnami suddenly accelerated the car. Since the TSI failed to stop the car, he jumped on its bonnet. Even after seeing the TSI clinging on the bonnet holding on to the wiper, Vishnami did not stop the car. Instead, he raised the speed.
While Vishnami was dragging the cop on his vehicle, the policemen deployed around in the wake of the Bhartiya Kisan Union rally chased the car. The cops finally intercepted the car near KKC petrol pump. Irked with his daring act, the policemen thrashed Vishnami. Meanwhile, senior officials rushed to the scene and rescued him.
Vishnami was brought to the Husainganj police station. The TSI was so scared he could not narrate the story.
In the course of interrogation, Vishnami stated that he owns a brick kiln at Gosainganj. He had gone to visit a friend near Ravindralaya when he locked horns with the TSI.
CO Hazratganj Ajay Kumar Mishra said a case of attempt to murder and 7 criminal amendment law Act were registered against Vishnami. Mishra said the car was purchased in Assam. Cops were collecting details about documents related to the ownership of the vehicle.
