Two army personnel killed in Ladakh landslide

A temple, a bridge and two army posts bore the major brunt of the landslide at Thang, 10 kms from police post Turtuk in Leh district.

Two army personnel were killed and six others injured in a massive landslide in Turtuk sector of Ladakh region, a police spokesman said on Sunday.

A temple, a bridge and two army posts bore the major brunt of the landslide at Thang, 10 kms from police post Turtuk in Leh district, on Saturday night, the spokesman said.



Two army personnel manning a check post died on the spot and another soldier along with five Nepali porters were injured.



All the injured were taken to army hospital for treatment.



The bridge along with another army bunker (post), a temple, a private car and a civil garage were totally damaged in the incident.
