The incident took place at Nuagaon village in Bangirposi police station area, 45 km from Baripada. The police recovered charred bodies of the two persons.

The victims were identified as Thimpur Hemram (60) and his daughter Duli Hemran (35). Duli's husband Bajinath Soren, who was staying with the father-daughter duo, was accused of setting the house on fire after locking the door from outside, the police said.

Duli was staying at her father's house as she was not pulling well with her husband, the police said.

While bodies were sent for autopsy, police had launched a manhunt to nab the accused.
