The MNS had organised a party to celebrate the inauguration of a 'Shaka'(branch) in the Khambalpada locality last night. It was during this party that things went wrong and a clash ensued between the rival party activists, they said.

At 12 persons on either side rioted using chains, iron rods due to which one activist each from the Sena and MNS suffered injuries.

Both the injured have been admitted to the Thane Civic Hospital and Local Bhiwandi hospital, police said.

A case of rioting has been registered against the rival groups though no arrests have been made so far.
