The accused were identified as Dilip Patil (27) and Preetam Mhatre (19). With the arrest of these two, the number of arrests in the case rose to six, while one is still to be traced, they said.

"Two accused were nabbed on Monday, while one accused Umesh Bhoir surrendered before police on Sunday night. Hunt is on to trace one absconding person. He will also be arrested soon," Maithili Jha, Assistant Superintendent of Police, told PTI.

An Arts faculty student of a private college in Mira Road was allegedly gang raped on two occasions on May 14 and June 6 by the accused, who filmed the crime to blackmail her.

On Saturday, police nailed Parag Mhatre, his brother Pankaj and their friend Hiren Patil, who were remanded to police custody till June 29.

"We are probing if the accused have criminal background. Though the accused have blackmailed the victim saying that they would circulate her MMS clips if she did not give in to their demands, they had already circulated the clips to their friends," Jha said.
