The robbers were identified as Mukesh and Kanji. They were arrested last week for their involvement in about half-a-dozen cases of loot and dacoity.

ASP Jhabua, Sunder Singh Kanesh, said the two robbers were mainly house breakers but were also involved in loot incidents. "We are taking action against the guilty policemen. They escaped with the handcuffs when the constable went for nature’s call," said Kanesh.

Police further said they have formed more than two teams to nab the accused and a combing operation is on. "We have raided more than a dozen spots to nab the accused and every possible attempt will be made to nab them," said the ASP.
