While speaking to media persons, the former Speaker said that the sanyasini would never part ways from the ideologies of the BJP. Coming on the Kalyan Singh controversy, Tripathi said that hue and cry was unnecessarily being raised over the absence of the former chief minister from the nyay yatra.

Tripathi also said that change of guards in the State BJP was mere speculation.

Tripathi, who was here to attend a school function, termed the allegations of Uma Bharti as baseless in which she had termed the BJP as the party affected with caste politics. He claimed that from the power to organisation, the party has taken along with it all caste and creed.

He said the newly-elected president Rajnath Singh has also taken care of the same while selecting members of its team. He said that Uma Bharti was attached to BJP’s ideologies and would not do away from the same.

Talking about Hindu League, Tripathi said that formation of Hindu League would not have any adverse affect on the BJP. He said there was a huge difference between a purely political party and religious organisation. Besides, the aim of both the organisation was to unite Hindus without which national integration was not possible.

To a question on the BJP returning to its core issue of Hindutva, Tripathi quipped the party has never skirted the issue. According to him, as per the demand of the situation, priority could be given to other issues. But this did not mean that BJP has left the issue of Hindutva.

He said if the party was forced to form a coalition of 23 parties, there were several hardships, which the party had to go through. It was because of this that the party had to compromise with several issues. To a question on Kalyan Singh’s reluctance to be part of the nyaya yatra beginning from January 30 in western UP, Tripathi said that the allegation was baseless and the nyaya yatra would be led by Kalyan Singh. He said that Kalyan Singh has only expressed his inability to lead the yatra for all the seven days.
