BHARATIYA JANSHAKTI president Uma Bharti today said here that the State Government lacked the political will; otherwise it could get rid of the Gadaria menace 'within half an hour' by implementing the secret plan conceived during her tenure as the Chief Minister. “Senior police officer Sanjay Rana knew that plan”, Bharti said without elaborating the plan.
She condemned the Gopalpura massacre of five Gujrars by bandit Gadaria gang on Sunday in Shivpuri and criticised the State Government for its apathy.
Bharti reached Gwalior in the afternoon and later proceeded to Gopalpura to console the bereaved members of the families whose relatives were massacred by bandit Gadaria gang in Shivpuri.
Talking to reporters here on Wednesday, she said the Congress was a party 'reasonably better in terms of behaviour and code of decency' than the BJP. “The third-rung leaders of BJP including Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan are cunning, hypocrites and a power-hungry lot who can go to any extent to remain in power.
She charged the BJP with mass rigging of polls in Bada Malehra and Vidisha by-elections and bringing the two constituencies under siege. Democratic process was thrown to the winds on the polling day and the State Election Commission remained a mere spectator, she alleged.
Bharti said she was still weighing the idea whether to topple this government (BJP) or allow it to function till public outcry reached its peak.
“I have the requisite number to topple this government but lack the magic figure to form a new government because of wide gap that exists”, she said, adding destabilisation would amount to obstruction of development process. People of the State will have to bear brunt. Bharti, however, said the State would see one more chief minister after Chouhan.
