Union govt employees stage dharna for their demands
MEMBERS OF Union Government Employees Coordination Committee took out a procession and staged a dharna to demand Rs 1000 interim relief to the employees, appointment on compensation ground and implementation of recommendations of the sixth pay commission when it is enforced. Presiding over the dharna, RS Chand blamed the Union government for adopting dilly-delaying tactics in redresser of the demands of employees .

Presiding over the dharna, RS Chand blamed the Union government for adopting dilly-delaying tactics in redresser of the demands of employees and called upon them to maintain solidatory and to be ready for nationwide strike in support of their demands.
District president of the coordination committee, Comrade KL Mishra said that union government employees would go on strike on December 14, 2006 if their long pending demands were not met immediately. Employees union leaders of Postal Department Comrade BL Singh demanded that postal employees of rural areas should be treated as Union government employees and said government should review the proposed pension scheme for the employees.
Employees’ union leader Alok Gupta, Ramavtar Dubey, Ashish Srivastav and others said that if UPA government would ignore the demands of the employees, then they would face the end like Vajpayee-led NDA government.
They claimed that the employees of All India Radio have also extended their support to the strike of Union government employees.
