At least 19 wagons of a goods train derailed near Sasaram in Biharearly Monday morning, completely paralysing traffic between Gaya and Mughalsarai, a vitalroute of the East Central Railways.

Railway sources said that the cargo train was on way from Rai Khelari near Dhanbad in Jharkhand to Gaziabad in Uttar Pradesh.

The routes of around 10 express and mail trains, including Jammu Tawi-Sealdah Express, Puri-Delhi Neelanchal Express, Ranchi-Varanasi Express, Howrah-Mumbai Mail and Howrah-Gorakhpur Express have been changed.

Senior officers and engineers of Mughalsarai division have rushed to the spot and repair works are on.

Traffic on the section is likely to be restored by the afternoon, the sources added.
