UP: Labourer burnt alive for refusing to work

A 17-year-old labourer was charred to death while his brother suffered serious burn injuries when both were allegedly set ablaze by three persons for refusing to work at a construction site in Jhansi, police said.

A 17-year-old labourer was charred to death while his brother suffered serious burn injuries when both were allegedly set ablaze by three persons for refusing to work at a construction site in Jhansi, police said.

Pawan (17) and Kapil Dhobi, both brothers, refused to work at the construction site at Chirgaon in Atpai village and were allegedly set on fire by three persons on Saturday, superintendent of police (rural) S P Singh said.

An FIR had been registered against Suresh, Bablu and Brijesh Yadav, the SP said.

They were on the run and a hunt had been launched to nab them, he said.

Kapil was battling for life in hospital, the SP said.
