“Results of the recently concluded civic body poll have boosted the morale of BJP activists in UP, causing serious concern for the Samajwadi Party (SP) and the Congress in the state”, he said and claimed that the BJP activists were hell-bent on registering their presence in the forthcoming Assembly election in UP.
Speaking to mediapersons here on Sunday, Singh said office bearers of Bihar BJP would persistently tour areas of eastern Uttar Pradesh till the Assembly poll.
Singh was here to hold meetings with the office bearers of city unit of BJP and its frontal organisations to discuss the preparations for the proposed meeting of the party in Lucknow on December 24. He said a large number of BJP activists would participate in the proposed meeting.
About Bihar, he said JD (U) and BJP alliance had initiated several development works to overcome the miseries of the common people in Bihar.
“Only Rs 700 crore were invested in Bihar during 1994—2004, but at present there were proposals of Rs 26,000 crore for investment in the state”, Singh said, adding, “a proposal of Rs 16,000 crore out of total Rs 26,000 crore had already been approved by the Bihar government.”
He said the Bihar government had created a secure and peaceful atmosphere for the investors and added that the Bihar government had improved the condition of district level and block level hospitals across the state.
About the condition of roads in Bihar, he said it had been improving persistently. “The Bihar government has increased the budget for road construction from Rs 100 crore to Rs 3000 crore. “Similarly, the condition of education and power supply would also be improved soon”, he said.
