UP: Tension in Bahraich area after father, son burnt alive

A father and son duo were allegedly burnt alive in Umariya village of Uttar Pradesh, police said.

Tension gripped Uttar Pradesh’s Bahraich district on Friday night after a father and son were allegedly burnt alive in Umariya village, police said.

SP Shalik Ram Verma said Anwar (30) and his son Kalim (8) died due to severe burns.

The villagers told the cops that the duo was set afire while they were fast asleep in the hut, trapping them inside.

An FIR has been registered against unidentified persons and a probe has been ordered into the incident, police said.

Bodies of the victims have also been sent for postmortem, villagers added.
