The matter was adjourned today by Justice RC Jain following a request from the respondents that they needed time to file their replies.

The petition was filed by the Uphaar Cinema Fire Victims Association seeking registration of FIR against the owners and two others for allegedly tampering with the judical records pertaining to the tragedy.

It was alleged that certain material which could establish the negligence of the management in the tragedy were deliberately defaced by a senior court staff member at the behest of the theatre owners.
