The UPHRA has recently submitted a charter of demands to the principal secretary, Tourism. The association has also decided to call on Chief Minister Mulayam Singh Yadav in this regard, next week.

UPHRA general secretary Vijay Pande said that under the new hotel policy, the five-star hotel projects would be given to those entrepreneurs with an average annual turnover of Rs 100 crore or above in the last three years and should have at least 10 years of experience in this field. Pande added that the association had been demanding reduction in turnover limit to Rs 10 crore and experience level to 5 years.

The UPHRA general secretary said the State Government should give more rebates and land at discounted price to the hoteliers to establish their projects.

He also demanded speedy implementation of the policy and urged the government to identify the sites for new projects.
