UPMID to provide Rs 89.40 cr for irrigation schemes
With a view to provide timely irrigation water to the small and marginal farmers, especially those belonging to the scheduled castes/tribes, Uttar Pradesh Minor Irrigation Department (UPMID) has made a provision of Rs 89.40 crores under the district plan for different irrigation schemes during the current financial year.

An official press release quoting a report received from the Department said a provision of Rs 60 crore has been proposed this year for free boring schemes.
This amount included Rs 2,873.26 lakhs for general boring, Rs 3,121.73 lakhs for special component plan and Rs 5.01 lakhs for tribal sub-plan, the release said.
A provision of Rs 7.97 crore has been made for centrally sponsored schemes of ponds' renovation and medium tube well schemes, it said adding besides, Rs 1 lakh each has been proposed for new schemes of water management and recharging in Bundelkhand and other critical blocks in the state.
