Addressing an election meeting here last night, she said Vaiko had only supported the LTTE.

"Was he arrested because he made sacrificed or led a struggle for Tamil Nadu," she asked.

Vaiko was not arrested because he was in the forefront of any struggle to bring Kavery water to Tamil Nadu or any other issue pertaining to the state.

She criticised the Congress for joining hands with the MDMK.

She said the Democratic Progressive Alliance (DPA) led by DMK was an opportunistic alliance.

Earlier, addressing series of meetings she said the AIADMK-BJP alliance was a formidable one, unlike the DPA which, she said could break anytime due to its "opportunistic character".

Campaigning for the Periyakulam candidate TTV Dinakaran, she reiterated her assurance to take Tamil Nadu to number one position in the country.

She said "only Indian should rule India". Playing MGR-card, she said victory to BJP-AIADMK would mean victory to MGR.
