Like many times before, Vaiko has again switched sides —this time to the AIADMK — but his political tirade in street corners has lost none of its sting. Seeking votes for the AIADMK candidate S.V. Shekar, Vaiko targets DMK chief M. Karunanidhi and his nephews, the Maran brothers.

He alleges that the DMK misused funds to finance Marans’ Sun TV. “How can a company that began with Rs 4 lakh in 1993 be worth Rs 10,000 crore today?” he asks. And the tirade goes on. The crowd however, was non-plussed.
