"I congratulate my colleague and Railway Minister Mamata Banerjee for her party's victory in the Kolkata Municipal Corporation election', Ravi told reporters here.

Lashing at CPI-M, Ravi alleged that the statement of Kerala Chief Minister VS Achuthanandan, accusing Congress policies as the cause for the growth of 'Muslim and Christian communalism', was a political ploy to appease majority community and RSS.

The minister said he was not leading any group in Congress and wanted to be known as a 'Congressman and not as groupman'.
