A local court trying the Imrana case on Sunday allowed the defence to use as evidence a videotape in which she has purportedly stated that her father-in-law could not succeed in his attempt to rape her.

Rejecting a plea by Imrana opposing cross-examination on the videotape, District and Sessions Judge Rajmani Chouhan allowed the defence counsel to play the tape as evidence in the court on March 23 and cross-examine her.

The videotape, reportedly recorded by the Milli Council on June 24 last year, shows Imrana telling the religious organisation that her father-in-law could not succeed in his attempt to rape her.
