"She has sent her reply to the Election Commission before the time given to her by this morning," state Chief Electoral Officer (CEO) I V Subba Rao told reporters here.

Vijayasanthi was served a notice by the EC for allegedly making inflammatory comments at a meeting in the TRS office recently ahead of the bypolls to 12 assembly seats in Telangana region of Andhra Pradesh.

She was arrested by the state police over the issue and later released on bail on Saturday.

Meanwhile, Telangana Jagruti Sanstha president and TRS president K Chandrasekhar Rao's daughter K Kavitha petitioned the CEO seeking that the nomination of state Congress president D Srinivas be rejected.

She alleged that Srinivas was trying to influence voters by promising that Congress president Sonia Gandhi is in favour of separate Telangana.

The petition is being examined, the CEO said.

He said the Deputy Election Commissioner Jai P Prakash held a meeting of Collectors and senior police officials of the districts where bypolls are scheduled to be held on July 27.

The arrangements, including security, being made for the bypolls have been thoroughly reviewed, the CEO said.
