The victim, Harinder Singh, who runs a shop at Rabupura, was robbed of the cash when he was going to deposit it in a bank at Dankaur, two kilometres from his shop, said GK Kotia, the station house officer of Rabupura.

“As he left the shop, Singh was forced to stop his car when a motorcycle came in front of the vehicle. Two other men immediately came by a Maruti Zen car and assaulted him with pistols' butt before fleeing with the money,” Kotia said.

He added that the trader also suffered some injuries on his forehead.

“There were four robbers and all of them were in the age group of 20 to 25. They were speaking local language. Manhunt has been launched to trace them. Till late evening they were not traceable," the police officer added.
