Varsity student leaders did not appreciate the idea of use of firearms in the student politics. They were apprehensive that if they let this film shoot inside the campus then it would earn a bad name for their institution. Agitated student leaders created a ruckus, which left the crew with no other option but to call it a day.
But, the fact remains that student leaders were agitated because they were not allowed to get close to the set of the shooting. Some of them felt humiliated and decided to oppose the shooting. Since popular star was visiting the campus, elaborate security arrangements were made. This left the student leaders disturbed and they registered their protest.
Directed by Vishal Bharadwaj, the film portrays Oberoi (reel name Keshav Upadhyay alias Keshu) as a student leader contesting for the coveted post of college president of one Saket Vidyapeeth. Kareena Kapoor, the actress even shot a scene of attending a class at Arts faculty this morning. Student leaders of LU were, however, taken by surprise this morning when they saw posters pasted over a building wall where UCO Bank was housed. But soon they learnt that it was a part of shooting of a film.
However, Proctor VD Mishra did not give much significance to the protest registered by the student leader. He said: “The filmmaker sought their permission for shooting hence there was no reason why anybody should object that.”
