Vjyantimala’s autobiography might not be an experience in classic literary thrill, but it is a narrative that comes out of the heart and deserves to be read for the revealing anecdotes about the film world. Finance Minister P. Chidambaram said this while releasing the autobiography in New Delhi on Wednesday.

Titled, “Bondings — A Memoir”, the book, published by Steller Publishers, traces the evolution of Vjyantimala from her conservative Iyengar bearings to her forays into dance, films, politics and social work. Interspersed with interesting anecdotes, it provides an account from the first real “dream girl” of Indian cinema and brings out her passion for dance, Chidambaram said.
