Held from 9 am to 2 pm, the rally and the camp offered medical check-up facility with Eye, ENT and other specialists, along with a lady doctor, to the ex-servicemen and war widows.

A number of stalls like the Ex-servicemen help line, ECHS cell, Defence pension cell, State Bank of India, district welfare soldier board, and the CSD were also set up. Many civil administration officials including Karchana Sub-Divisional Magistrate, Trilok Singh, and Vipin Kumar Mishra from the Meja district welfare soldiers board were also present in the rally.

Gurdasman Jagdish Prasad, a veteran of the Indo-Pak 1971 war, was honoured on the occasion. Brig SS Yadav, Sub-Area Commander, Madhya Pradesh, Chhatisgarh and Allahabad Sub-Area also honoured other ex-servicemen and war widows at the rally, followed by a lunch. While every ex-serviceman was given a pressure cooker and a towel, the war widows were gifted shawls, as a token of remembrance.

In his inaugural address, Brig Yadav enlightened those present about the various government policies and welfare schemes started for ex-servicemen, war widows and their families.

After the rally, the ex-servicemen, war widows and their families were dropped by special vehicles, arranged for the purpose on the occasion, to their respective places.

While quite a few problems were solved on the spot, concerned department officials noted the balance to consider them at the earliest. The initiative was welcomed and appreciated by one and all. A defence pension Adalat will be organised on December 5, at the office of the principal CDA (pension) Allahabad.
