You might find it tough to find all that you need according to your liking when you go to the markets, but at Vivaha you could certainly take your time to pick and choose.

Candles have emerged as popular favourites for all occasions and have recently also replaced the traditional lamps in Indian weddings.

Nirmin Sabuwala of Rituals Wax Skills, a candle- making company from Mumbai, she says she doesn’t know where to start when taking of designs and quality. “There is such a craze for candles these days. We change designs frequently, and also have a huge demand for candles to be made according to themes. From Morroccan and Chinese to Indo-western themes, we have done them all.”
Some of Sabuwala’s candles burn up to 36 hours. Her stock is priced between Rs five and Rs 2,500.

At the Art Studio stall there are dazzling platters studded with Belgian and Thai crystals. Priced at Rs 300 and above, they make ideal gifts, and can be used as a base for chocolate or mithai.

At the same stall are brightly coloured envelopes, cash boxes, laddoo boxes with Tanjore paintings and wine bottle covers.

Wedding planners like Moment Makers and Showtime take care of all your wedding needs — from invitation cards to thank you notes, item number girls to theme settings. “These days family members want to be guests at weddings; they don’t want to miss the golden moments running around getting things ready,” says Tarun Sarda, CEO, Vivaha interactive.

Ravi Patodia of Hands has come up with a special wedding collection of carpets, rugs and bedcovers. “In India, weddings are royal affairs, everyone wants to have the best and most exquisite items to start their homes with. But when it comes to carpets, people love to buy products from foreign countries like Iran, even though India is one of the world’s leading carpet producers. We have come up with this collection of souvenirs to return the focus to the Indian industry,” says Patodia. Souvenirs with ‘Shri’ and ‘Om’ written on them are priced at Rs 300, organza and cutwork bedcovers cost, on an average Rs 7,500.
