West is more logic-driven

I enjoy all your columns and find them extremely logical and compulsive. Regarding the ban you may be right to write that it is an Indian way of life. I would have liked to see the balanced view about the acceptance of the movie/book in western world attributed to the secular way of life and falling church attendance. People here are more rational and are willing to question the religious tenets and the press by and large will report these without censorship.

I enjoy all your columns and find that your comments are extremely logical and compulsive. Regarding the ban you may be fully right to write that it is an Indian way of life. I would have liked to see the balanced view about the acceptance of the movie/book in western world attributed fully to the secular way of life and falling church attendance.

People in this part of the world are more rational and are willing to question the religious tenets and the press by and large will report these without censorship.

I am sure with economic growth and dwindling family ties, we India too will become less emotive about the religious beliefs and become rational in our views.
