In the Hindi film industry you know you have arrived when you have lots of work on one hand and are unable to fulfil all your commitments on the other.

Like it seems to have happened with Arshad Warsi, who’s a on a high post-Circuit and Munnabhai MBBS. Warsi is alleged to have delayed director Rohit Shetty’s comic caper Golmaal by cancelling allotted dates and giving priority to Kabir Khan’s Kabul Express and Raj Kaushal’s next, in which he’s playing the lead.
Produced by Shree Ashtavinayak Cinevision Ltd, Golmaal is about four good-for nothing men (Ajay Devgan, Tusshar Kapoor, Sharman Joshi and Warsi) who intend to rob a lone, helpless couple played by Paresh Rawal and Sushmita Mukherjee. Launched in October 2005, the film was expected to be completed by mid-January 2006 for release this summer.

A still from Golmaal. Arshad Warsi is reportedly delaying the film's completion

According to a source associated with

Golmaal

, “The film was scheduled for release in April. But Arshad cancelled some dates in November 2005. Also, a major schedule in December was aborted as he went to shoot for

Kabul Express

, delayed due to John Abraham’s illness.”

Though Warsi’s career had a slow start with AB Corp’s

Tere Mere Sapne

, he hit big time with

Munnabhai MBBS

. Though he’s much in demand right now, this has only led to disappointment for some producers who also have to put up with Warsi’s penchant for giving inputs to the script.

If Warsi is not finishing Golmaal then he has his reasons, say industry insiders. Around the time that Golmaal was being shot, he was offered a solo-hero film by Kaushal.
