What I will do on Earth Day
I'll wake up early and sleep early so that I don't waste electricity more than I really need to, when I can do with sunlight! If 200 of us slept at 10 instead of 12, think of the electricity saved!

I must remind my father not to keep the tap running while he shaves.
As my mother packs my lunch, I'll remind her not to wrap the food in foil but rather, if needed, in a clean cloth napkin that can be washed and is not thrown away after one use.
I'll run down the stairs and keep fit rather than take the lift on my way to school.
On the way out, I'll remind my mother to soak the dal and the rice at least half an hour before she cooks them, so she saves cooking time and fuel. And yes, I'll suggest she pressures cooks anything she can.
I'll turn off the lights in the staircase. So what if the staircase is a public place? It's my planet!
It's the start of a new class. I'll try to hand my books down to someone in the next class while I ask one of my seniors for hers.
I'll have the unused pages in last year's exercise book bound into a separate exercise book for this year.
