Wife held for ex-MLA?s murder
The Washim police have arrested Shobha, wife of former BJP legislator Yadavrao Shikhare, for conspiring to murder her estranged husband last month, reportsPradip Kumar Maitra.
The Washim police have arrested Shobha, wife of former BJP legislator Yadavrao Shikhare, for conspiring to murder her estranged husband last month.
Yadavrao was stabbed to death at his Civil Lines residence in Washim on August 17. A teacher by profession, Yadavrao represented Washim in the assembly from 1999 to 2004.
On August 19, the police arrested Yadavrao's younger son, Prashant and his associate, Shrikant Navgrahe.
After interrogations, the police concluded that Prashant got his father killed because of a property row. They also learnt that Shobha was a conspirator in the murder.
District superintendent of police Stalin Babu told Hindustan Times that there was enough evidence to establish that Shobha had plotted her husband's murder along with her son Prashant.
