Will J&K elections achieve anything?

Will free and fair polls in J&K negate plebiscite?: I am appaled to see how Indian trooper are handling the Kashmiri people, like an outsider colonial force on the gun point. Why India doesn't get rid of Kashmiri people and let them have plebiscite and save a bundle to feed its own hungry and homeless in Calcutta and other palces. It`s about time India undrstands that even East Germany and USSR were not able to hold people against their will, says Robin, Toranto.

Pakistan:   Elections in Jammu and Kashmir are a sham and they will acheive nothing. The participation in J&K elections have been dismal with barely two to 10 per cent people turning up to cast their votes. People in J&K have boycotted elections organised by India.  Arun Jaitley, BJP Spokesperson: Though there was no quickfix solution to terrorism menace, the successful conduct of free and fair polls was a turning point in the history of Kashmir. At times terrorism invites emotion. The cost of immediate reaction is very high, but output very little.
