Woman killed for refusing to abort

A women was allegedly poisoned to death by her husband and step-daughter after she refused to undergo an abortion in Para Soli village in Muzaffarnagar, police said.

Zubaida, 25, had been forced to abort her child twice by the accused as they did not want any division of property , the victim's father alleged.

When Zubaida refused to take a drug to abort her unborn child for the third time, husband Zubair Ahmed and her step daughter poisoned her, he alleged . Zubaida's first wife had abandoned him and according to police he did not want a child from Zubaida. The body has been sent for postmortem. The accused are absonding, police said.
