Terrorists hurled a grenade at a gypsy of women's police station while it was passing through the area at around 1.30 pm in Srinagar, officials said.

The grenade landed inside the gypsy and exploded, causing serious injuries to four constables of Jammu and Kashmir police, besides a civilian passer by.

The area was immediately cordoned off and the injured were rushed to hospital, where a woman constable identified as Gulshana was declared brought dead, they said.

No terrorist outfit has so far claimed responsibility for the grenade attack, the first in the Valley after the start of the holy month of Ramazan on Monday.
