A woman saved herself after being attacked by a leopard by hurriedly climbing a tree in a Himachal Pradesh village.
Vimla Devi, 50, was grazing her cattle in a forest near Fagerha village, some 20 km from Shimla on Friday when a prowling leopard pounced on her, scratching and biting on her head.
Vimla managed an escape and climbed a nearby tree shouting for help. The villagers took her to a hospital in Shimla where she received at least a dozen stitches. Her condition is stable.
