Gayatri cut a portion of her mother-in-law's left arm at Damodarpur village after a heated argument, the police said, adding the accused has been arrested and the weapon of crime recovered.

Police Station in charge of Kotwali (Barabanki) J P Singh told PTI that the family feud relating to property was going on for the past six months.

The victim was admitted to a district hospital, but later shifted to a Trauma Centre in Lucknow as her condition deteriorated.
