Women molested on the road in Delhi
Three men allegedly molested two sisters in northeast Delhi and ripped off their clothes in full public view on Saturday morning.
The molesters stopped only after one of the women fell unconscious from the shock. At least 25 people watching the assault did nothing.
Jaspal Singh, DCP (northeast), said, “We have registered a case of molestation and causing hurt. One of the accused, Dinesh, has been arrested.”
The sisters, in their 20s, were on their way to a Swasthya Kendra, where one of them gives stitching classes, when they were attacked at about 10.15 a.m.
Dinesh, along with accomplices Naresh and Vicky, pounced on the women near Gagan cinema, an officer said. The women have reportedly told police that the men harassed one of them every day.
According to the police, the molesters became aggressive after the woman — who has some training in karate — protested. “When her sister tried to intervene, they began manhandling her,” the officer said. “They tore the girls’ clothes in the process,” he added.
The girls were taken to Guru Teg Bahadur hospital, where one of them was under treatment till late evening, police said.
