INDUSTRIAL PEACE in Ujjain could be shattered with the workers of Shree Synthetics Limited threatening to launch a massive agitation against the sudden closure notice put up by the management late last night.

According to information, the factory has been reeling under financial crunch for sometime now. To tide over the crisis a compromise formula was adopted by the management and the workers on the initiative of district administration few months back. Under this formula the workers had agreed to work on curtailed salaries.

But even then, the workers have not received their pay from October last. The employees were demanding their dues when the management pasted the closure notice on the main gate. The employees who reached the factory this morning were denied entry.

Anticipating the anger, senior administrative and police officials reached the spot to control any untoward situation. Although, prior information before closure has to be given to the administration but the management did not follow the guidelines.

The agitating workers met Collector Neeraj Mandloi and demanded that factory owner Shrikant Banger (Kolkata) be asked to come here to have a direct dialogue with the workers. The collector assured that efforts would be made to solve their issues and appealed to maintain peace.
