Workshop for NCC officers gets underway

These words of inspiration by Swami Vivekanand were recalled in a workshop of NCC officers at the Law Faculty in the Banaras Hindu University (BHU), here on Monday.

Addressing the Associate NCC Officers (ANOs) of Uttar Pradesh and Uttaranchal, Prof Asha Ram Tripathi also quoted not only Swami Vivekanand’s views, but also Pt Jawahar Lal Nehru and President Dr APJ Abdul Kalam’s views to encourage participating officers to do a better job. NCC Group ‘A’ headquarter of BHU has organised a 10-day training programme.

Tripathi, a faculty member at the Commerce Faculty in the BHU, said the 540 million youth of the country could play a significant role to ensure the country was a developed nation by 2020. Dean of the Social Science Faculty, Prof PN Pandey delivered a lecture on ‘Ingredients for a better society’. Colonel KK Singh presided whereas Dr Asgar Ali Ansari conducted the programme.
