In a letter to Rajya Sabha Chairman Hamid Ansari, former Finance Minister said the Prime Minister had made false statements, alleging that he had gone to Japan as Finance Minister and failed to meet his counterpart.

“But as Finance Minister, I never went to Japan during the Vajpayee government. When I did go during the tenure of Chandra Shekhar as Finance Minister in 1991, I did meet my counterpart,” Sinha told reporters.

Earlier, Sinha repeatedly sought to know the fate of his notice from the Chair during Zero Hour. PJ Kurien, who was in the Chair, said that Sinha's notice was under consideration of the Chairman.
