Panic gripped Kashmir’s Shopian district after the bullet-riddled body of a 25-year-old youth was found tied to a pole.
Locals found the body of Rasikh Ahmad Khan at Turkiwangam village of the district on Monday morning, police said, adding that the deceased was abducted and apparently shot at from close range. “Rasikh had bullet wounds on his chest,” a police official said.
Khan, a resident of nearby Wasohallan village, owned a computer-cum-photocopy shop at Imam Sahib area of the district.
The official said Khan had left for his shop on Sunday, but did not return home in the evening.
“Initial investigations suggest that the youth was not affiliated to any organisation and was earning his livelihood by running a Photostat shop, ” he said, adding that they have registered a case and started investigations.
