The zoo is cool again! Believe it or not, it is fast becoming the preferred hang out zone for youngsters. “I love going to the zoo with my friends, it’s so much fun,” says Vaishali Bhambri.

Going to the zoo was always associated with kids, who love to see the various animals housed there. But Delhi Zoo with all its greenery and open space, is finding many young takers, with school reunions and birthdays increasingly being planned there. “My friends and I met at the zoo recently for a small school reunion. The atmosphere was amazing,” adds Bhambri.

“I love riding the small bus they use to ferry people. It might be childlike, but it’s fun,” says DU student Rohit Gupta. “There is so much greenery and open space, you can actually hear the birds chirping and that just lifts your mood,” says student Damini Khanna.

The zoo is also a popular spot with the love birds. “The area is so huge that you can take a quiet walk without being bothered by the traffic, beggars or disapproving eyes,” says Shalini Sharma. “The nature just makes the date more romantic,” adds Karan Jha, her boyfriend.
