Indore: Lokayukta police nabs cop for accepting bribe

The special police establishment (SPE) of Lokayukta has arrested a policeman for taking bribe from a person. The accused was caught red-handed and cash was recovered from him.

The special police establishment (SPE) of Lokayukta has arrested a policeman for taking bribe from a person. The accused was caught red-handed.

The Indore Lokayukta police team trapped Hari Singh Raghuvanshi while he was accepting a bribe of Rs 5,000.

Raghuvanshi was demanding money for closing case against complainant Kishore, resident of Kaun village in Dhar district.

Speaking to HT, DSP Lokayukta Daulat Singh said couple of days back there was an incident of dacoity in complainant’s village and the names of eight persons surfaced in the case.

Head constable Raghuvanshi, investigating the matter, started pressuring Kishore to grease his palm. Kishore lodged a complaint at Lokayukta office. Subsequently, the police personnel was arrested.
