Indore: Night temperature to dip sharply by January 6

Night temperature will register a steep fall after three days as western disturbances which brought rain to Malwa-Nimad region will weaken by Saturday noon.

Meteorological department regional head Anupam Kashyapi said night temperature will fall sharply in and around Indore by January 6. “Expect very cold nights,” he told HT. However, the maximum temperature will rise. As for next 24 hours, rain will occur at several places and there will be shallow to medium fog.

On Friday, cold winds continued to blow throughout the day as skies remained overcast and there was no sunshine. This was the fourth consecutive day when the weather remained chilly. Winds blew from northeast for most part of day reaching up to maximum speed of 15 kilometer an hour.

Light winter rain occurred at isolated places taking the total rainfall to 32.1 millimeters in last 36 hours. City recorded maximum temperature of 16.5 degrees Celsius on Friday, which was nine degrees below normal. The minimum temperature at 12.5 degrees Celsius was three degrees above normal.
