Teen sent to juvenile home for raping minor in Betul

A five-year-old girl was raped by a minor boy in Betul district on Sunday, police said on Monday. The victim, a resident of village Malegaon under Multai police station of the district, is undergoing treatment at the district hospital, where her condition is stated to be “critical”.

The victim was playing at her home when the 17-year-old accused lured her away on the pretext of giving chocolate and raped her, the police said. The girl came home weeping. The victim’s mother noticed blood in private part of the minor and informed other family members, who took the girl to a nearby hospital. The girl was later referred to the district hospital. The accused was detained and sent to a juvenile home.
