This remained the constant answer to all the queries that Rajasthan Anti-terrorist Squad (ATS) members put to Indra Bishnoi on her role in the infamous Bhanwari Devi murder case.

Indra is the prime accused in the murder case of the auxiliary nursing mid-wife that rocked Rajasthan in 2011. The ATS arrested her Friday from Nemawar area of Dewas district in Madhya Pradesh.

“Before we handed Indra Bishnoi over to the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI), we questioned her. During the investigation, she remained very calm and composed,” said superintendent of police (ATS) Vikas Kumar.

The police said that even as the ATS team picked indra from her safe house, she didn’t show any trace of surprise.

“She was extremely cool and composed and even addressed our officers as ‘hukum’, which is the highest form of respect in Rajasthan. But in answer to most of our questions, she would say that everything is the will of god,” said a senior ATS official on the condition of anonymity.

Officials said that a report was being prepared by the ATS, which contains all the details about the operation that led to Indra’s arrest. It would be sent to the CBI.

“In the report, we have also provided details of the people who had sheltered her. It is up to the CBI to take any necessary action on it,” said another ATS official.

Bishnoi carried a reward of 5 lakh and was absconding since 2011.

Former Congress legislators Malkhan Singh Bishnoi, who is the brother of Indra Bishnoi, along with former minister Mahipal Maderna have been named as accused in the case and are currently in jail.

The CBI charged the duo of colluding to get Bhanwari Devi kidnapped and murdered as she was blackmailing them over illicit relations with both of them.
