Fake currency of 1.5L face value seized

A special operations group arrested two people and recovered fake currency worth Rs. 1.5 lakh from their possession at Saras Chauraha in Bharatpur on Sunday, police said. Deputy inspector general of police BL Meena said after receiving a tip-off about smuggling of fake currency from outside the state, they laid a trap and arrested the accused.

Deputy inspector general of police BL Meena said after receiving a tip-off about smuggling of fake currency from outside the state, they laid a trap and arrested the accused.

The accused have been identified as Kedar Gurjar, 25 and Mahjar Gurjar, 23. Both are the residents of Khuntkhera area under Bayana tehsil in Bharatpur district. During preliminary interrogation, the accused have accepted that they used to bringing the currency from West Bengal, Meena said. He said the accused have also admitted to having smuggled fake currency five times.
