A suspect wanted in a dacoity case was killed in firing by the Andhra Pradesh Police in Sanchore area of Jalore district on Friday. A woman was also killed after being hit by the suspect’s vehicle, which was being chased by the Andhra Police.

Additional superintendent of police, Jalore, Jasaram Bose said that a police team from Andhra Pradesh was here in the city to investigate a dacoity. The team was chasing a vehicle, which was being driven by the suspect, Bheem Singh. During an exchange of fire near Hadetar village, 8 km away from Sanchore town, Singh died.

Singh is a resident of Bheenmal, under Sanchore police station, was accompanied by Bharat Purohit, who too received a bullet injury and is undergoing treatment.

Bose said that there are around 15 cases registered against Singh in the district. He received two bullets –chest and arm. “We have recovered a country-made pistol from Singh’s vehicle, which had one round left,” he said.

Bose said that during the chase a 55-year-old woman was hit by the vehicle, who succumbed to injuries.

The Rajasthan Police said their Andhra counterparts did not inform them about the operation beforehand.
